You Were There

You were there,

there with me on those frightening, sad, scary and happy moments.

You were always there,

always.

Struggling through the years,

never really helped.

But you were there for me,

and in return,

I was there for you.

Life got difficult and there it all changed.

Years of off and on friendship,

to now that there is nothing.

You are not there.

A different face is there,

a face so familiar,

yet so unknown to me.

I wish you were still there for me,

but I guess you think different.

Just remember dear friend,

what you do,

is what you get in return.
