But Your Job is so Easy!

Here's what you don't get; the customers who won't let you finish a sentence. The customers who yell at you when you try to give them the deals. The customers who don't get it that you are trying to do 5,000 for 10 different people when you've had a no show associate. The customers who literally rip things from your hands. The customers that completely ignore you, but the moment they need something have no problem yelling at you from across the store.

Here's what you also don't get; the customers who see you giving your all. The customers who say one nice thing that makes everything else not matter. The customers who come in only for you because of how nicely you treat them. The customers who find comfort in you to let you know their worst days. The customers who cherish the basic things in life and are just as patient with you as you are with them.

No, my job isn't easy, but it also brings more rewarding things than just "making the sale." It's mentally and physically draining at times, yet so energizing other days.

Those in customer service and retail don't always get the recognition they should, or the patience and understanding that we sometimes need. It's not for the faint of heart. I've learned for every rude and self centered person I come across, there are just as many who are worth the effort.

Those in customer service who also have anxiety, depression, ocd, etc put on their best fake smile at times to just get by. We know what it's like to not be at your best, so we strive day in and day out to go out of our way to make everyone's day, even thr rudest of people; because at the end of the day, we'd hope for the same in return. We constantly worry if we are being helpful enough, too helpful, happy enough, working fast enough and so much more. Some days are more mentally and emotionally draining than others. We love that we do, and we will continue to just to make a difference to one person.

Met You in the Middle

I met you when I was in the middle of my storm, when I didn't want to meet anyone. Then you ended up being what I wanted, and you got the best version of me anyone could have. -AJ
